Our story

Serving the Dimond District since 1995.

For three decades, Dimond Cafe has been the place on Fruitvale Ave for a hot breakfast, a stacked sandwich or a handmade burger, using only the freshest local ingredients when possible.

Order at the counter, grab a table by the window, or call ahead. Phone orders are welcome. Regulars come back for the breakfast burritos and the cafe’s own hot sauce, and first-timers keep mentioning the portions.

  • Best breakfast burrito in the east bay. We live in Berkeley now and literally travel here sometimes we love it so much. I get the veggie breakfast burrito add sausage. Also love the chicken club sandwich and veggie sandwich. This place is so good for how unassuming it is!!

  • I have been here twice now, and it is very good. Both times I have gotten a breakfast burrito, because I was too lazy to cook. The burrito is made with fresh vegetables and it's outstanding. The hot sauce is unique to Dimond Cafe and I love it. The young lady behind the counter is always smiling and very nice.

  • Best breakfast sandwich in the area, and best prices too!!
    Today’s special was chorizo and I was thrilled they let me add chorizo as the meat option to the breakfast croissant.
    This was the best tasting breakfast sandwich, truly cooked and assembled to perfection, and the service is friendliest in the town for sure. Thanks Dimond cafe!!

  • First time here today with my son. I had an English Muffin with egg, cheese and sausage. I was pleasently surprised with the portion size and felt it was a great deal for the price. My son 11 yr old had a breakfast burrito and could barely finish it and he's a big eater. Friendly staff, good prices, big portions of tasty food, pretty sure I'm going to spending some more time here soon!

  • I’ve lived down the street from this place my whole life and I’ve never been here before. I just went in for the first time this morning. The owner was Very friendly and made my food exactly how I wanted it. I’ve been craving a chicken Caesar wrap for weeks and haven’t found one the way I like it and they did a perfect job. I can’t wait to come back with my family for breakfast.
